POOL RULES

GENERAL POOL RULES

    • Absolutely no glass in the facility.
    • UVAC staff reserve the right to address any swimmer who is not following the rules.
    • Masks are required in the pool unless the individual is actively submerging their head.
    • Swimsuits or swim attire must be worn. Swimming in street clothing is prohibited.
    • Back flips, back jumps, back dives, spinning jumps, and running before jumping are not permitted in either pool at any time.
    • The sauna is only available to one person at a time regardless of family/pod status. Maximum time allowed is 10 minutes. Must be 18 years or older.
    • Deck changing is prohibited. Appropriate locker rooms are available.
    • Upper Valley Aquatic Center is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen items.
    • Any inappropriate or unsafe behavior may be grounds for immediate dismissal from the facility.
    • Children not yet toilet trained must wear a secure “swimming” diaper.
    • Do not swim if you have any contagious or communicable disease, fever, cough, cold, rash, open wound, eye sore, stitches, eye inflammation, etc.
    • No spitting, urinating, spouting of water from the mouth, depositing foreign matter in the pool, etc.
    • Shower before entering the pool.
    • No one suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs is allowed entry into the facility.
    • No firearms or explosives allowed anywhere on the grounds.
    • No animals, with the exception of guide animals, will be allowed in the pool area.
    • Do not swim without a lifeguard.

COMPETITION POOL RULES

  • Swimmers under the age of 14 are not permitted in the competition pool without supervision.
  • Non-swimmers are not permitted in the competition pool at any time. A swim test may be required. The swim test consists of a 25 yard swim and a 1 minute tread.
  • Use of the blocks is allowed only under the direct supervision of a UVAC swim instructor or UVAC swim coach.
  • Hanging on the lane lines is prohibited.

 

WARM WATER POOL RULES

  • Warm Water pool entry is permitted only at designated entry points including ladders, stairs, and zero depth. Do not enter under the chained off lazy river and shallow bench area.
  • Diving is prohibited in the Warm Water pool. Feet first entry only.
  • Non-swimming children, or children 7 years of age and under, or any child in a flotation device must be accompanied in the water by a parent, guardian, or chaperone (18 or older) within arms-length at all times, with the exception of programs.
  • Only U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) approved flotation devices are permitted in UVAC pools. USCG approved flotation devices are available in limited quantities in the pool area.
  • Wearing a USCG approved flotation device does not modify the age restrictions that may apply.
  • Children 13 years and under must be supervised at all times by a parent, guardian, or chaperone with the exception of classes. Children in lessons must be picked up promptly at the end of class.
  • Water features will not be on during group swim lessons or water fitness classes.
  • Climbing on the islands and peninsulas in the Warm Water pool is not permitted.
  • Patrons must remain outside the chained areas.
  • No horseplay.
  • No hanging on the basketball rim.The lazy river is for movement, please do not stand in front of the jets, please share the water features and be mindful of others.
  • The use of equipment is not permitted in the lazy river except during UVAC programming.
  • Climbing UP the little, blue slide is prohibited.
  • Patrons must be at least 48 inches to ride the tall, yellow slide.
  • Only 1 person is permitted on the tall, yellow slide at a time. Please wait at the bottom of the stairs until the previous person has exited the slide well.
  • Flotation devices and goggles are not permitted on the tall, yellow slide.
  • Lifeguards must approve all play toys/equipment brought into the pool area.
  • Pool noodles, kickboards, kick boats, beach balls, etc. are for swim lessons, water fitness (individual or group), and physical therapy use only.
  • Only balls provided by UVAC , or purchased in the UVAC pro shop are permitted.
